The School That Works
Cristo Rey Jesuit empowers students to be college-ready and career-prepared with an innovative Corporate Work-Study Program that employs 100% of our students. Our students earn approximately half of the cost of their education through a job-sharing partnership with their classmates to cover full-time, Monday through Friday positions at 130+ companies throughout Houston. Our experiential learning model is unique as we are the only school in Houston that incorporates on-site job experience into its academic curriculum.
How it Works
Our Students
- 98% students of color
- 100% trained with critical, valuable social and technical skills demanded by the modern workplace
- 97% daily work attendance
- 96% meets or exceed expectations in the workplace, as reported by supervisors
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Cristo Rey Jesuit proudly educates a student body that comprises 99% students of color, and we stand behind these young men and women on their path toward college and a bright future. Houston is a city as diverse as it is tenacious, and we believe our schools and places of business should be a reflection of that. We know that our school alone cannot remedy systemic racism, but we can be a step in the right direction. As you address your own corporate diversity and inclusion strategies, Cristo Rey Jesuit can serve as a resource.
Together, we can work to create a corporate landscape that is welcoming to all people, regardless of their background.
“Cristo Rey Jesuit does a great job preparing the students to work in the corporate world — to pay attention to details and to be enthusiastic. As corporate partners, we are changing the students’ mind-set, changing the norm, changing the expectations. We understand the positive impact the Corporate Work-Study Program has on families. The program expands the possibilities and helps students realize that dreams can become reality.”
