CWSP Coordinator, Professional Development

 The Job: 

As a member of the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) team, this position will interact with students, school personnel, and business leaders to execute the transformative Cristo Rey Work Study Program model alongside other CWSP staff. The primary duties of this role include teaching students job skills, managing the relationships between the school and its job partners, and assisting in the coordination of student training and professional development.

Purpose:

In this role, the CWSP Coordinator, Professional Development will create content and learning experiences for a variety of audiences using various delivery methods.  You will be responsible for managing the implementation of training projects and key programs, provide reporting and analytics support for the CWSP team regarding student grading and timecards, and provide oversight and support for a variety of training courses and programs.  You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create and develop professional development content that is linked to business requirements and aligned to Cristo Rey Network expectations.

Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Program Development: Develop and coordinate the CWSP curriculum and build on established fundamentals while creating new programs for CWSP professional development, Project CEO (senior capstone project), and Prep for Success: Business Training Institute (summer training program for incoming freshmen and transfer students), including supporting volunteers who lead sessions 

  2. Student Professional Development: Teach CWSP curriculum, content, and lessons for each grade level during designated times, facilitate learning experiences in conjunction with the academic team, and lead CWSP professional development classes each semester and during the summer as part of Prep for Success: Business Training Institute; support CWSP Operations with the planning, implementation, and execution of professional development programs as needed

  3. Student Support: Assist in the formation of student teams and job assignments based on student and sponsor requests and interests, student skills and personality assessments, sponsor job descriptions, and student’s previous performance to ensure successful jobsite placement; cultivate and strengthen corporate partner/student relationships as well as compliment Cristo Rey student workforce readiness; collect, review, record, and follow-up on student worker time cards and performance reviews, maintain Salesforce database of students and partners, and assist in technology support for student workers in the Remote Work Lab

  4. Student Training: Train student workers and prepare them for job placements and support the planning and execution of training activities for non-working freshmen/transfer students as necessary; assist with management of morning check-in with daily dress code and attendance checks, daily announcements, and bus dismissal and address/enforce all school policies with an emphasis on dress code, attendance, and overall professionalism

  5. Corporate Partner Relations: Provide feedback on planning for training needs of current supervisors and suggest ongoing supports to enable their effective management of students and make their program participation sustainable; coach supervisors on how to best maximize the efficiency of student workers (conducting regular phone calls, emails, site visits, and database updates - Salesforce etc.); assist students in scheduling make-up days, holiday workdays, and overseeing the collection of forms and recording of data associated with these days

  6. Relationship Building:  Build collaborative partnerships with the Academic Team, CRJ staff and subject matter experts (SMEs) to proactively identify development needs to support and enhance student performance; build strong relationships with students, via being a model of conduct and offering guidance as they are introduced to the corporate work world, as well as building relationships with the professionals at various workplaces to ensure success, and serve as the primary point of contact, for assigned caseload, for parents/guardians regarding their student’s work performance and progress

  7. Account Management: Serve as a liaison to an assigned portfolio of Corporate Work-Study Program (CWSP) business partners and students; manage corporate accounts through developing and maintaining working relationships with CWSP supervisors and decision makers; and conduct site visits in accordance with Department of Labor requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; master’s degree preferred

  • Computer proficiency in programs and digital platforms related to the job responsibilities including Microsoft & G-Suite Database Software; Spreadsheet Software; Word Processing Software; Electronic Mail Software; and Presentation software. 

  • A minimum of two years of professional development or workforce training experience and one year of relationship management experience

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Proficiency in Spanish is helpful.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time.

  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 10 lb.
