Cristo Rey Jesuit's First Day

P1040059Here at Cristo Rey Jesuit, we began our very first day of school, opening our doors to more than eighty freshmen from all over the Houston area.  These students are beginning a journey that will continue past their graduations in 2013, and continue on as they graduate from college to become successful men and women for others.  The day began with Dr. Cathy Thomas giving a brief introduction to the students, and Fr. TJ Martinez, SJ, giving the students an impassioned speech about their role in the school, and all of the many things that came together to open the doors of Cristo Rey Jesuit today.  After Dr. Thomas gave an overview of the school, and our expectations for our students, Mr. Dan Walsh introduced the students to the corporate work-study program.  At the time of this posting, Mr. Garcia-Prats is leading the students in ice-breaker exercises, to help the students get to know the people they will spend the next four years with.

Be sure to check back throughout the day, as we'll be putting more photos on the website, showing the first day of the newest Jesuit school in the United States!  Read on to see a slideshow of our first day so far!
