The School Counselor will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a comprehensive, developmental, results-based school counseling program.
Cristo Rey Jesuit Students take part in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and are required to participate in the corporate work-study program (CWSP), whereby they spend five days per month engaged in a corporate work assignment. CWSP is a unique feature of the Cristo Rey model. The fees for the students’ services go directly to the school to pay a significant portion of the cost of education, thereby making a private Catholic education accessible to a diverse group of students from underserved communities.
The School Counselor will support the emotional needs of the students as they learn to manage the many demands of high school life. He / She also joins in promoting the overall development of the student as a person, according to Jesuit educational principles and the mission of the school. The school strives to build a genuinely Christian community in which students are offered love, acceptance, discipline and an academic challenge.
